Katsina lawmaker dumps PDP for APC

Date:

From Lawal Sa’idu Funtua, Katsina

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) member of Katsina state House of Assembly, representing Kurfi Local Government, Alhaji Danlami Kurfi, has dumped his party for the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Speaking with newsmen shortly after submitting his nomination form to contest the Kurfi-Dutsin-ma House of Representatives seat at the APC state secretariat, Kufi said PDP impunity drove him out of the party.

He noted that he left PDP when he realized that what the leadership of the party under Governor Shehu Shema, is not interested in ensuring justice and fair play in the election of those who would represent the party in the 2015 elections.

“When we had a meeting with the Governor, he said he has no anointed candidates. At first we took him by his words, but later, he started nominating candidates like his commissioners or councillors at the local government level”, he added.

According to him, despite his effort in the last two years to represent his constituency, the Governor went round to anoint someone that was not popular to the people in the area.

The lawmaker however vowed that he would do all within his powers to make sure APC captures power at all levels of government in the country, calling on Nigerians to come out and vote out PDP in 2015.
