Insecurity: Embrace self help-Bugaje tells Nigerians

The All Progressives Congress (APC), gubernatorial aspirant in Katsina state, Dr. Usman Bugaje has said that with the lingering security problem in the country, Nigerians were left with no option other than to embrace self-help.

Bugaje stated this yesterday in Katsina, while submitting his nomination form at the party’s secretariat in Katsina.

The aspirant stressed that with the conduct of security agencies towards the insurgency it was clear that the security personnel have failed woefully in their primary duties of protecting the lives of the ordinary citizens.

“The Police, SSS, Army and other security personnel have demonstrated that they cannot guarantee the protection of lives and property in the country. People must get themselves organized to protect themselves against senseless bandits” he added.

On his aspiration, Bugaje noted that he only submitted his nomination form to the party after going round to gauge the level of support he has among the party faithful in the state, adding that his recent visit to all local governments of the state was encouraging.

The aspirant similarly called on the party leadership in the state to make sure the conduct of the primary elections in the state were free and fair so as according to him to sustain the unity of the party and ensure its victory in 2015.

He, therefore, recalled that it was faulty primaries the robbed opposition parties of capturing power in the state since 2003, stressing that the opposition in Katsina must this time around strive to get it right.

Responding, the state chairman of the party, Alhaji Mustapha Inuwa has assured the aspirant that the leadership of the party would take all necessary measures to make sure justice was done to all aspirants.
