2015 Presidency: 92 Taraba APC delegates endorse Atiku

As the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries draw closer nationwide, 92 out 102 Delegates from Taraba State have endorsed the candidature of former Vice President, Alh. Atiku Abubakar, describing him as a son of the soil and the only presidential aspirant from the north eastern part of the country.

This was part of the resolutions reached at a steering committee meeting between Taraba Atiku Abubakar 2015, APC presidential delegates and Atiku Abubakar presidential campaign team from Adamawa State.

Briefing journalists on the stand of the delegates, shortly after the meeting which took place at Senator Aisha Jummai Unity hall, Jalingo, the Chairman, APC in Taraba State, Alh. Hassan Jika Ardo said, “The decision of the Delegates as you can see, we have moved the adoption of Alh. Atiku Abubakar as the presidential candidate of the party in Taraba State”.

Jika Ardo, who described APC delegates as the people saddled with the responsibility of selecting who should be the flag bearer of the party in the 2015 general election noted every candidate in the country is seeking for the support of delegates.

The APC boss, who also emphasized the effectiveness of APC in the state, stressed that the party is solidly on ground to face any challenge which according to him might arise from any political

quarters. “APC is prepared to take over government in 2015”, he said.

According to Mallam Jika, the main reason why APC an opposition party is advocating for change in Taraba State and Nigeria is insecurity, adding that the principal function of government is to provide security for lives and property of the citizenry.

“People of the state and the nation have on their own started looking for ways to protect and guide themselves from the bloodshed of insurgents as if there is no government in the state and nation at large”, he said.
