Fashola’s aide, Reps loses APC Reps ticket in Lagos

An aide to Lagos State Governor Lateef Raji and a lawmaker currently representing the constituency in the National Assembly, Moruf Akinderu- Fatai yesterday lost their bids to become the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Oshodi- Isolo Federal Constituency to a new entrant Timothy Olumuyiwa Olabimtan.

 Raji a Special Adviser to Lagos State governor on Information and Strategy polled 64 votes, while Olabimtan scored 83 votes.

APC Oshodi Isolo LG chairman Olamide Kasali lost in the election that was described as free and fair.

“We had a very peaceful primary exercise today. The choice of the people emerges as the candidate of the party that is Timothy Olumuyiwa”

He said “ Bashiru Dawodu came third with 31 votes, the incumbent lawmaker, Moruf Akinderu- Fatai had 20 votes, Akin Akinyemi got 10 votes while the former council chairman of Oshodi- Isolo, Afeez Ipesa- Balogun got no votes.”

Also, Wole Diya, younger brother to former Chief of General Staff (CGS) Oladipo Diya  won the primary to represent Shomolu Federal Constituency under the APC.

Diya, a former member of the House of Representatives polled 199 votes to defeat Sesan Olanrewaju who scored 192 votes and Gbenga Abdullahi who polled 76 votes.
