Zamfara PDP primaries: Senator Sahabi emerges winner

Serving Senator Sahabi Ya’u Kaura representing Zamfara North has been declared winner in the PDP senatorial primary elections with 151 votes against his opponent, Colonel Bala Mande (rtd) who scored only 14 votes out of the 166 total numbers of votes cast by the delegates.

Announcing the results shortly after the election which was conducted in Kaura Namoda federal polytechnic theatre, former state Commissioner of Agriculture, Abdussalam Magami noted that, only one vote was found invalid as the incumbent Senator Sahabi Ya’u Kaura was lucky to sweep majority votes cast by the delegates from the four local government areas of the constituency that comprises Shinkafi, Zurmi, Birnin Magaji and Kaura Namoda.

In his speech, the loser congratulated the winner by assuring all the necessary support and cooperation that would lead to the success of the PDP across the zone come 2015, further urging all his teeming supporters to redirect their hope on the serving Senator who emerged as the party’s candidate.

Also speaking, Senator Sahabi Ya’u called on his supporters to consider his opponent in all their political activities as he is also a bonafide member of the PDP whose aims were to ensure the development of the zone on the platform of the party.
