Former Speaker of the House of Representatives and Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress,APC in Katsina State has condemned the ordered court case against him by Senator Kanti Bello who contested Katsina State governorship position under the All Progressive Congress (APC) and lost/
Kanti had at the weekend ordered his lawyer to file a suit at the Federal high court this week to challenge the eligibility of former speaker, Aminu Bello Masari to contest for state governorship having won the party’s primary election conducted few weeks ago.
Senator Kanti Bello, who came second to Masari during the party’s primary election, disclosed this at the weekend while addressing newsmen at his Kaduna residence.
According to him, to be joined in the suit is the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
He added that they are seeking the disqualification of Masari as APC gubernatorial candidate on account of an alleged forged certificate.
Senator Kanti argued that the postgraduate certificate in water quality control and management presented to INEC by the accused is forged and if proven true the former speaker be disqualified from the contest.
Senator Bello quoted section 82 sub-sections J as explicit on the matter of forgery on the part of any person contesting the governorship of a state.
However, Masari who spoke through his Special Assistant Media,Mallam Abdu Labaran on Sunday, said Senator Kanti Bello’s allegation is baseless.
Fashi explained that in 2003 after losing the ANPP gubernatorial ticket to Eng. Nura Khalil,Kanti became the candidate’s returning agent, only to sell out to PDP.He has been compromised by PDP again,Kanti it was that decamped from ANPP to PDP, he called Buhari all manner of uncomplimentary names, saying that the General was a security threat to Nigeria. It is the same story now “
He said Senator Kanti Bello is a bad looser.” He is someone who must emerge a winner, otherwise everybody loses. This has been his stock- in- trade, whenever he does, he always has his way, In any case, there is nothing original in the Senator’s ranting.
“The allegation has been made when the Masari was Speaker of the House of Representatives, after it was thoroughly investigated and found to be false The House passed a vote of confidence on him (Masari).”
