The Academic Staff Union  of Universities (ASUU) Federal University Dutse chapter has distanced itself from the alleged pension double deduction protest that took place in the institution last Thursday.

This was contained in a statement issued by ASUU through the University Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Yahaya Bello, who liaise between the university and members of the press to clarify the matter.

It would be recalled that Peoples Daily had reported that Academic and Non- Academic staff participated in the protest.

“ASUU as a union does not participate in local or national protest without the consent of the zonal and national bodies and it is not also part of Joint Action Committee of the non- teaching staff that comprises of SSANU, NASU and NAAT,” the statement said.
