Aliyu declares operation win your polling unit, inaugurates guber campaign cm’ttee

Niger state governor Dr Muazu Babangida Aliyu has declared an operation win your polling units to all members of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state as the 2015 general election draw closer.

Governor Aliyu made the disclosure at the inauguration of Gubernatorial Campaign Committee and other sub- committees in Minna yesterday saying that no stone should be left unturned to ensure that all the candidates from the House of Assembly to the Presidency should be returned victorious in the elections.

“We should go from house to house, neighbor to neighbor, room to room to ensure we win the election we have to do it that way for us to get somewhere”.

 Aliyu urged supporters of the PDP not to be intimidated by anybody especially the opposition party, insisting that “once you enter a project with fear you are bound to fail”.

“All members of the gubernatorial campaign committee, those of the House of Assembly, and the senatorial campaign organizations and those of the House of assembly must therefore come together to ensure that the PDP and its flag bearers win all the elections slated for next month without competing with each other” he stated.

The governor also directed all political appointees who were not appointed into each of the campaign committees to consider themselves as mobilizers for the PDP candidates, saying that they will be held accountable in the event of failure in any polling unit and that any of the appointees who did not want to work for the party should resign his or her position.

He challenged all members of the campaign committees as well as the political appointees to ensure the party supporters at the grass root are carried along in their activities.

“Our party must be reinvigorated, we must consult officers of the PDP at all levels, we should work assiduously to ensure total victory”.

On the governorship candidate of the party, Alhaji Umar Mohammed Nasko, Aliyu described him as the best to happen to state especially because he is a youth asking the electorate to queue behind him.

“I don’t believe that youths are leaders of tomorrow you must be given a chance now, they constitute 60% of the national population”.

Director General of the gubernatorial campaign committee, Hon. Aminu Yussuf, in his remark on behalf other members, assured the PDP members of total victory in the February election.

 Aminu Yussuf who is also the state Secretary of the PDP said the party will change its tactics and strategy in areas where traditionally it has had problems in previous elections.

 Governor Aliyu, his Deputy Ibeto, Speaker, Nasko and his running mate Kantigi, were also named as members of the campaign advisory committees among other sub- committees inaugurated who were given a matching order to swing to action.
