Seven people were yesterday injured while over 20 houses were burnt down following a civil disturbance that occurred in Bogoro Local Government Area of Bauchi state.
It was gathered that the incident which occurred at Dan Zara and Anguwani Rimi community in Bogoro LGA was as a result of disagreement between the two communities.
According to the Public Relations Officer of the Bauchi state Police Command, DSP Haruna Mohammed the incident which occurred on 7th of January 2015 led to destruction of properties in the area.
He said ” On the 7/1/2015 at about 14:00hrs, disagreement ensued between Dan Zara and anguwan Rimi communities in Bogoro LGA of Bauchi State. As a result, the warring factions engaged in a free for all fights and wanton destruction of properties in the area.
“No loss of life, but seven persons who sustained various degrees of injuries were rushed to Malar Clinic for treatment and Over twenty three houses were set ablaze, he said”
Mohammed said normalcy has been restored back to the area by combined Security Forces noting that Patrols are being intensified within and outside the town to ensure safety and security of the people.
He disclosed that eight suspects were arrested in connection with the civil disturbance saying “they are assisting the Police to uncover the actual cause of violence and extent of damages after which they will be charge the case to Cour,adding that investigation is in progress.
