General Election: Christian youths organize prayer session in Adamawa

The Nigerian youths have been advice not to allow themselves be use as political machines for thuggery in the forthcoming February General Elections in the country.

The advise was given by the coordinator, National Youths Wing of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN Engr Daniel Kadzai, yesterday where Coalition of Youths from various Christians denomination in Adamawa State where gathered for a prayer and awareness seminar for peaceful elections.

Engr Kadzai, said the occasion was to create awareness among youths on the need to be careful against being use as thugs by politician because it has been on record that most of this political violence were hatched by politicians courtesy of our teeming jobless youths.

Kadzai urged the youth to make sure they participated in the election by voting according to their conscience stressing that Nigeria as a country must get it right for the progress and development of our mother land.

“You must use your vote wisely by not selling it or allowing politicians to sway you through petty sentiments”, Kazai said.

Kadzai tasked politicians against heating the polity by running issue based campaign.

Also speaking, Pastor Naphtali Enwongulu, urged for peaceful election and need for sustain prayers for God to see Nigeria through the election and challenges of insecurity.

Enwongulu task all stakeholders particularly politicians to play the game according to the rules and respect the people judgement, adding that power belongs to God.

He urged the people of Adamawa particularly those affected by insurgency to have faith in God for succor and lasting peace.

Similarly the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, has started distribution of permanent voter cards to Internally Displaced Persons IDPS, in various camps in Yola Adamawa State capital yesterday.

A visit by this reporter to Damare IDPs, camps in Girei Local ernment Area in the State showed the officials of INEC, distributing to IDPS who were lined up for collection.
