Shettima commends INEC over voter cards distribution

Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno state has commended the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) for its efforts towards ensuring successful conduct of next months general elections through the distribution of voter cards.

Governor Shettima made the commendation shortly after receiving his Permanent Voter Card (PVC) in Maiduguri, saying “INEC is doing a wonderful job, as a Nigerian, I cannot say anything but to commend them for what they are doing.I think that we need to support them in what ever way we can to accomplish their mission of organizing a hitch free election in February,’’ he said.

Shettima advised all registered voters in the state to ensure that they collect their PVC on time in readiness for the 2015 general polls.

The governor urged individuals whose names were missing on the INEC list to take advantage of the Continuous Voter Register (CVR) to ensure that they were not left out.

“I got information from some areas in Maiduguri that PVC for some wards have not yet arrived the country.I advised individuals especially political leaders not to get agitated by the development, they should rather take advantage of the CVR to get their names captured,’’ Shettima said.
