Gunmen rape housewives, kill 2 in Delta

Unidentified gunmen currently terrorizing Ozoro Community Isoko, North Local Government Area of Delta State, have taken undue advantage of their warlords to allegedly rape housewives, rob unsuspecting residents and killed two unidentified traders.

The present insecurity situation in Ozoro Community, investigations revealed, has become worrisome to the entire people and in the last two weeks six notable persons were allegedly killed by these gunmen.

The first victim among those that have been killed, was a popular man who runs a bear parlour along Urode road known as Inikoke who was shot dead at his own residence around Uruto Quarters in the community.

Few days after, another lady was said to have been killed as the killers currently prowling every nooks and cranny of the community were said to have visited one Emunema Eriewe and shot him dead at his family compound around Iyeosa Street, Uruto Quarters in the community.

It was reliably gathered that most housewives have been allegedly raped, especially at nightfall after these gunmen have laid siege for them either on their way home or on return from an errand.

The gang of hoodlums terrorizing Ozoro Community and its environs may have gained upper hands as the community is said to have lacked security and as they have allegedly killed one Anaro on the 30th December 2014 who came to visit his home during the Christmas celebration.

The killing of the brilliant Anaro hitherto creates palpable tensions and fear of the unknown in the community..

But the Police Public Relations Officer in the State, DSP Kalu who confirmed the horrendous activities of the unidentified gunmen, disclosed that the Police have declared a total war on criminals in the community..

DSP Kalu said that no fewer than eight persons have been arrested in connection with the robbery activities and killings in the area and warned that it will no longer be business as usual for the evil doers
