About 40 people are reportedly dead of Cholera in the communities of Sagbama and Southern Ijaw Local Government areas in Bayelsa state and Inoma community in Anambra West Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The communities located in the two states have suffered lack of basic infrastructure, like clean water, good road network, and inadequate health facilities, including health staff.
According to reports, Nurses working at Inoma Community Primary Health Centre, had complained of inadequate manpower, and drinkable water as the only borehole dug in the area had dried, making the villagers source for water at a stagnant pool
The first set of deaths was reported in January 16 in Anambra state while about 30 was reported on Sunday 25th January, 2015 in Bayelsa.
