Even as the dreaded terrorist group, the Boko Haram continued to unleash deadly attacks on communities in Borno State, United States President, Barrack Obama has given an insight into how the Nigerian government can stop the activities of the insurgents in the country.

In a chat with an online media recently, Obama who said the federal government has not done enough to secure the release of the over 200 girls abducted in a school in Chibok, posited that the Nigerian government can stop the activities of the Boko Haram through the effective use of intelligence.

“The Nigerian government has not been effective as it needs to be in not only finding the girls but also stopping this extremist organization from operating in their territory” the US President has said.

According to President Obama, the US has tried to mobilize other countries to try to give the Nigerian government more resources to be able to tackle the insurgents.

“What we have tried to do is to mobilize other countries to try to give the Nigerian government more resources, not just military equipment but also better intelligence. A lot of them to track where these folks are and try to stop them” he said.

“As people may or may not know, Boko Haram is a radical, violent, terrible extremist organisation in Nigeria” Obama has noted.
