A360 support Jigawa govt to improve HCD on adolescents girls

A non Governmental Organization known as A360 through Society For Family Health (SFH) has called on Jigawa state government to put more emphasis on Human Capital Development of adolescent’s girls to reduce maternal mortality and morbidity in Jigawa state.
The call was made by the A360 programs manager Bethsheba Daure while delivering her remarks during the SFH A360 mid-project dissemination on Thursday in Dutse.
The program manager who said Jigawa is among the state with high fertility rate advocated for more funds release for the implementation of programs related to adolescents girls education, health and empowerment.
“We want to improve sexual and reproductive health outcomes of young adolescents and women in Jigawa state”, she said.
According to her, research shows that most of maternal mortality and morbidity incidents occurred on less knowledgeable or school dropout girls whom mostly came from rural areas.
Daure, urged present administration in the state as part of measures to curtail the problem to support second chance schooling for dropout adolescents girls with provision of conducive learning atmosphere.
She added that, another solution to adolescents girls challenges is women empowerment through development establishment of more acquisition centers to train women as well as increase of budget allocation for adolescents.
While speaking on stockout of
contraceptive commodities in the state, the Parmanent secretary Jigawa state ministry of health who was represented Director State Primary Healthcare Development Agency Dr Shehu Sambo related the stockout challenges with process of purchasing the commodities.
Also speaking, the director ministry of women affairs, Hajiya Adama said, so far the existing allocation for ASRH is about N7 million with women development centres for adolescents programs and training.
