Ibrahim Gaidam - Yobe State GovernorFrom Uche Uche, Damaturu

Yobe State Governor, Alh. Ibrahim Gaidam has directed all Muslims, especially clerics, to offer special prayers for God’s intervention to ensure the release of the remaining number of schools girls abducted by Boko Haram at Chibok Government Girls School in Borno, the Borno state capital.

He gave the directive yesterday, during the inaugural ceremony of the 35 newly elected state executive members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

It has been confirmed that at least 200 of these girls were kidnapped from their boarding school in the town of Chibok on April 14, by Boko Haram insurgents and, according to military source, were being held in a hidden place.

Governor Gaidam however, attributed the insecurity situation in the country to bad leadership and therefore called for prayers to ensure that APC forms the government at the national level, a change he optimistically said would remove all the problems the country is facing under Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) since 1999.

“Nigeria was better-off before 1999, in terms of security, economic activities and in all indices of development; I cannot see any improvement in the 13 to 14 years administration of PDP in Nigeria,” Gaidam lamented.

He assured that should APC form the national government come 2015 election, Nigerians would witness changes for the betterment of their lives and standard of living.
