Abducted school girls: women group set to protest in Gombe

Women group in Gombe state said they will protest over the abduction of school girls who were carried away by members of Boko Haram sect.

Speaking to journalists in an interview in Gombe yesterday the National President of Tangale -Waja women’s association, Mrs. Finny David disclosed that it is necessary for women in the state to join other women in the country and protest over the abduction of school girls by insurgents at Government College Chibok. According to her, the abduction did not only affects the immediate family of the school girls but affected the entire nation, noting that we have reason to said no to this evil act by the insurgents.

We must stand firmed to ensure that this abducted school girls are rescued from captivity if not, we won”t sleep with our eyes close she said.

She called on the security agents and the federal government to double up their effort to ensure that the abducted girls are release from their captors to enable their parents freed from sorrow.

Speaking further, the National President beg the insurgents to consider their plea and release the school girls, stressing that the parents of the missing girls are willing to know where about of their daughters as she said if possible to return back home.

She said women group in Gombe are expected to join other women across the country in a protest to show their dismay over the abduction of school girls in Chibok which according to her, the protest will carry out in Gombe metropolis down to Gombe state House of Assembly where they will draw the attention of lawmakers to assist in order to rescue the missing school girls from their abductors.

While commiserating with the affected families, she appealed to them to look at the incident as act of God pointed out that the nation will continue to pray for their release in the hands of wicked ones who does not want peace in the country.
