Theodore-Orji1The Abia government, on Sunday, said it was not aware of the arrest of the Associate Editor of the Sun newspapers, Mr. Ebere Wabara.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Wabara was arrested in Lagos on Friday, and after being taken to Sholoki and Oyingbo police stations in Lagos, he was moved to Aba.

The Chief Press Secretary to Gov. Theodore Orji of Abia, Mr. Charles Ajunwa, told NAN on Sunday, in Aba, that the state government did not know about Nwabara’s arrest.

However, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Geoffrey Ogbonna, confirmed Nwabara’s arrest in an interview with NAN on Sunday.

The police spokesman added that Wabara was arrested by the state Criminal Investigation Department but said he did not have details of his crime. (NAN)
