Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL side, Abia Warriors of Umuahia, Abia State have parted ways with its coach, Imama Amakpakabor.

Just two years after his appointment as the Abia Warrior’s gaffer, Imama Amakpakabor has found himself in the football labour market after both parties decided not to renew his two-year contract which expired in July. 

Imama’s situation was made worse following 2-1 defeat Abia Warriors suffered against Nigeria National League, NNL side, Ottasolo FC in the Round 64 of the 2022 Aiteo/FA Cup.

Flowing the “unexpected” result, the management of Abia Warriors Football Club announced that it has parted ways with Coach Imama Amapakabor after the expiration of his two year contract.

The club thanked the former home-based Super Eagles coach for the services rendered and wished him well in his future assignment.

Since taking over the affairs of the club in July 2020, Abia Warriors had consistently struggled to remain afloat in the elite league needing last day of 2022 NPFL season to escape the drop. 

When Contacted the, the Media officer of the Club, Chigozie Nwosu, he confirmed that the parting was on a mutual consent as the club was not ready to renew his contract.
