The Abuja Mega Lions Club, District 404A2 of Lions International plans to raise N50 million to mark its 50th Anniversary.
The momentous occasion heralds a triple celebration marking the club’s 5th anniversary, the investiture ceremony of Lion (Dr) Charles Bassey PMJF, NLCF as the 5th President for the 2025/2026 Lions year, its club officers, and a N50 million fundraising event for humanitarian projects.
Dubbed “The Mother of all Investitures,”this spectacular event will take place on Saturday November 1, 2025, at Nafil Arcade and Water Park, Abuja, starting at 3 pm.
The investiture ceremony promises to be a grand affair, with the installation of new club officers and the conferment of leadership roles on deserving members.
Lion (Dr) Charles Bassey PMJF, a psychologist, banker and resourcefulness coach, brings a wealth of experience and passion to his new role, and the club is poised to achieve great things under his leadership, given his track record in public service and volunteer leadership.
The N50 million fundraising event is a testament to the club’s commitment to serving the community and making a meaningful impact in the lives of those in need. The funds raised will support various humanitarian projects, such as digitisation, renovation and enrichment of the City Library in Abuja, further solidifying the club’s reputation as a force for good in the community.
The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Otunba Engr Lusty Mustapha, MD/CEO Konta Engineering Ltd, who will chair the occasion, and Chief Host Lion Pst. Ezekiel Umoh PMJF, NLCF, District Governor, District 404A2, Nigeria.
Speaking on the choice of “Service beyond Today” as his leadership theme for the year 2025/2026 Lions Service Year, Dr Charles Bassey stated that “Service beyond Today encapsulates our drive and mindset to ensure that every project we do, outlives us and is a legacy that keeps blessing the lives of those who receive.
“We are thrilled to mark this milestone anniversary and look forward to another year of service, fellowship, and community engagement,” said the President.
