The Aguma of Gwagwalada, His Royal Highness Alhaji Muhammadu Magaji, has stated that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barr. Nyesom Wike, will be remembered alongside prominent founding fathers of Nigeria—including Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Sir Ahmadu Bello, Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, and Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, for his landmark infrastructural achievements in the territory.
Speaking on Monday during the commissioning of the Gwagwalada Civic Centre and a joint stakeholder interactive session with the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chapters of Gwagwalada Area Council, the traditional ruler praised the minister’s commitment to reviving long-abandoned public assets.
Magaji specifically highlighted the completion of the Gwagwalada Civic Centre, which had been abandoned for over 16 years, describing its delivery as clear evidence of Wike’s determination to drive inclusive development across the area councils.
“Gwagwalada has benefited significantly from the minister’s directives to ensure that uncompleted public projects across the FCT are resumed and put to effective public use,” the monarch said, noting that the completed civic center provides a lasting resource for residents regardless of political affiliation.
The traditional ruler also lauded the unified presence of APC and PDP leaders under the Rainbow Coalition framework, characterizing the cross-party collaboration as a positive shift toward political stability, peace, and accelerated development in Gwagwalada and the wider Federal Capital Territory.
