A legal luminary, Barr. Dr. Adbulwahab Issa Bologi, has sworn in newly elected executive members of Yoruba community in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) the Umbrella body of Yoruba and societies in Abuja.
Delivering his speech at the inauguration ceremony in Abuja on Saturday, the 7th President of Yoruba Community Abuja, Mr. Dauda Murana, said he would be loyal to every member of the community.
His words: ‘‘My administration shall be driven by peace, progress and unity for all Yoruba in Abuja.
“I come with open arms, ready for dialogue, discussion and constructive criticism. This regime belongs to every one of us.
“I welcome good suggestions, to make Yoruba name shine proudly in Abuja’’.
According to him, his administration shall prioritize empowerment for women across the six area councils of the FCT to ensure that every mother, sister and daughter in the community have access to opportunities that can uplift families.
He noted that his leadership would focus on capacity building, skills acquisition, Jobs creation as well as empowerment programmes that would secure Yoruba youths tomorrow.
He added that his administration would showcase a grand Yoruba cultural festival in unique styles that would attract donor partners and sponsors with the ultimate aim of preserving Yoruba heritage for the generations yet unborn.
Murana, however, thanked the dignitaries who graced the ceremony a grand style at the FCT Exhibition pavilion in Abuja.
Also speaking, the Otunba of Yoruba Community in the FCT, Chief Dr. Wasiu Tunwase, called on the 7th president and outgoing president to come together to fight for the welfare of Yorubas in Abuja and its environs.
