Founder, Fides et ratio Academy, Paul Chukwuma has denied report alleging he was detained by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
In a statement , the academy Media Assistant, Obi Chukwuemeka stressed that the founder is currently at work and not in detention.
He emphasized that his boss has always complied with contractual obligations and adhered fo principles of accountability and transparency.
Recall that he recently revealed that an investigating report in a section the media which alleged that a purported N2.9 billion contract awarded to it by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) was not executed.
According to Chukwuma, who owns a university in East Africa, Fides Et Ratio Academy only entered into an agreement with TETFund on a skill training programme for directors and deputy directors of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) as well as students in higher education institutions in the country.
Chukwuma, who expressed surprise over the erroneous report, said the academy’s project was fully executed.
The statement read in part:”Our attention has been drawn to a false report circulating on Anambra social media platforms and other news outlets, alleging that Sir Paul Chukwuma is being detained by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC). We wish to state categorically that this report is entirely false.
“Sir Paul Chukwuma is currently at work in his office and is not in detention.
“ Fides et Ratio, founded by Sir Paul Chukwuma, has always complied with contractual obligations and adhered to the principles of accountability and transparency.
“The ICPC has the mandate to supervise contractual requirements and request documents to ensure compliance. Once requested, every law-abiding company is required to comply with the agency’s request and provide requested documentation.
“Fides et Ratio will continue to collaborate with the ICPC to demonstrate adherence to regulatory provisions, as the company is built on transparency and respect for the law.
“We urge the general public to disregard any further misleading publications.”
