Accident claims 55 lives in Yobe

Ghastly road accidents in Yobe state have claimed the lives of 55 people, while another 10 sustained injuries.

Therty Five people died in a road accident involving Three vehicles along Damaturu-Potiskum road while 10 sustained injuries on Monday, while another 20 people died along Garin Alkali road along Gashua road after an accident involving a truck and a trailer.

The Garin Alkali Gashua road accident which occurred on Sunday night, had 16 females and 4 males among the dead.

The Public Relations’ officer of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Yusuf Sani, who confirmed the incident to Peoples Daily in Damaturu, attributed the two accidents to reckless driving and overtaking.
