An accountant, a staff of the Budget Department of Kajuru local government area of Kaduna State (name withheld), has attempted suicide at his residence in Kufana village in the area.
Report from the area said the accountant, a middle-aged man and husband of one and children, was rushed to a hospital in the metropolis after drinking a chemical called grazon.
The incident, which occurred at his residence on Monday, after closing hours, which shocked residents of the small village.
As of the time of filing this report, details of the reason for his action was still sketchy, but a staff of the local government area, who doesn’t want his name mentioned, said his action had to do with
family affairs.
“We couldn’t figure out why he did what he did, because he is doing well in the office; at least his salary was ok as an accountant. But I think he has family problem,” he said.
Peoples Daily gathered that the victim decided to take his life after sending his wife and children to the farm. No official could be reached for comments as at the time of filing this report.
