The Adamawa state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the suspension of care taker committee chairman of the party in Yola South Local Government Area,Honourable Suleiman Adamu for allegedly insulting President Muhammadu Buhari.
Rising from an emergency state working committee (SWC) meeting in Yola, Tuesday, the party condemned the disrespectful manner in which he insulted the president.
Meanwhile, there is a 7-man investigative committee to look in to the allegations and commend sanctions accordingly.
The investigative panel is headed by state care taker secretary of the party, Saidu Naira and are to interrogate the authenticity of the viral audio in which the voice of the suspended chairman was heard to have insulted the person of president Buhari, even wishing him death.
Findings by this reporter has revealed that the suspended chairman and other politicians were having stakeholders meeting for the party in that local council as some one recorded on his phone when the chairman was saying president Buhari should have died with corona virus disease so that Vice President Osinbanjo can take over mantle of leadership as president.
A statement signed and issued by the party’s spokesman, Muhammad Abdullahi, said the frown at such gross misconduct and sort for disciplinary action to serve as detterant to others, warning members to be mutually respectful.
According to the party, the disciplinary committee should discharge its responsibility with out fear or favour with a sole aim of promoting discipline in the party.
