The Adamawa /Taraba states Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service NCS,Yola has generated revenue of One Hundred and Forty Five Million, Six Hundred and Eighty Eight Thousand, One Hundred and Eighty Six Naira (N104,446,746.40) from April 2017 to April,2018.
Outgoing Area Comptroller of the Command ,Mr. Adetoye Francis disclosed the development Monday in Yola at the formal handover ceremony to the newly posted Acting Area Comptroller,Mr. Olumoh Kamaludeen Saying that,the command succeeded in smuggling to its nearest minimum in the command.
Comptroller Francis stated that,a total of sixty Nine (69) seizures with duty paid value,DPV of N124,513,527.70 including; 50Kg bags of foreign rice,second hand clothing, elephant tusks, petroleum products, pharmaceutical products and used vehicles among others.
He explained that,the revenue collection in the command is absolutely from agricultural products like pepper, honey, cotton lints,soya beans, beni seed among others.
He expressed gratitude to the Government of Adamawa and Taraba states, traditional institutions and people in the states for their support and cooperation urging them to extend same to his successor for more achievements in the command.
In his address to the men and officers of the command, the new Acting Comptroller,Mr.Kamaludeen pledged to work harmoniously with all for the development of the nation.
