Adamawa gov embarks on retraining of health workers for efficiency — Fintiri

With a view to ensuring quality healthcare delivery services,the Adamawa state government has expressed commitment to training and retraining of it’s medical personnel in the state.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri dropped the hint in Yola Tuesday at the opening ceremony of the 2023 Nigerian Medical Association,NMA physician’s week stressing that his administration has invested heavily and will continue to invest on retraining of health personnel for good outcome in the health care delivery services for the people in the state.
Represented by the state Head of Civil Service,Alhaji Shehu Ardo,Fintiri said to get it right the state government is ready to partner with NMA and other stakeholders on improving life of the citizens inline with the objectives of Abuja declaration.
Fintiri noted that the theme of the 2023 conference “it is time to get it right in the health: The Abuja declaration; 22 years after” is a wake up call to all and sundry to do needful in the health sector for improved service delivery.
He commended NMA for their contributions to healthcare services delivery and assured that the healthcare system would be easy accessible for the people in the state.
In his remarks,Permanent Secretary Adamawa state Ministry of health,Mr. Esuwa Misali said the theme of this year conference is apt and advised NMA to support government for more dividends of democracy in the health sector.
Misali stated that, the choice of the theme will go along way towards improving quality service for humanity.
He urged them to also be deligent in the job by observing the ethics of the profession.
Dr Solomon Bulus, NMA’s Chairman Adamawa chapter said, the week is a period that physicians give back to the society through medical outreach, positive engagement and collaboration with communities.
“It is also a time to strengthen our collaboration with government and other partners in promoting advancement of health and assisting government in achieving smooth healthcare delivery for its citizens”, he said.
