The Adamawa state government has directed the closure of junior and senior secondary schools in the state over measles outbreak.
Disclosing the development through a circular addressed to all principals of both junior and senior secondary schools in Yola Monday by the Acting Executive Secretary of the state post primary schools’management board, Mr. Samuel Wagerreng ordered them to shut down until next Monday 13th May 2024.
According to the circular, closure was due to out break of measles disease across the state.
“I am directed to inform you that all schools should remain closed till next week Monday 13/5/2024 due to outbreak of measles across the state coordinating principals should communicate all private schools.
“This information should be taken with all seriousness and urgent”.the circular declared.
Similarly, the Commissioner of Education in the state, Dr.Garba pella confirmed to journalists in Yola that all public and private schools including primary and post primary.
