The Adamawa state government has charged religious based organizations to inculcate and promote unity, mutual understanding, spirit of tolerance, forgiveness and harmonious relationship among their teeming faithfuls in the state.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri dropped the charge at the State Muslim Council’s presentation/launching ceremony of the Islamic calendar for year 1447/1448AH (2025/2026) in Yola weekend stressing that no meaningful development can be achieved without peace and harmony.
Represented by the Commissioner for Rehabilitation, Reconstruction, and Reconciliation, Barrister Bello Hamman Diram, Fintiri, reiterated his administration’s commitment to peaceful coexistence among diverse religious communities in the state.
He called on Muslims to live in peace with their non-muslim counterparts in accordance with the Islamic teachings in the interest of Adamawa’s development.
In his good will message, Speaker of the Adamawa state Assembly, Hon.Wesley Bathiya expressed gratitude to the Muslim Council’s leadership under the state chairman, Mal Gambo Jika for the roles being played to maintaining peace and respect among different believers.
