The National Commission For Refugees,Migrants And Internally Displaced Persons,NCFRMI has donated empowerment and relief materials worth millions of Naira to Internally Displaced Persons,IDPs, in Adamawa state.
Flagging off the distribution of the empowerment materials at Malkohi IDPs Camp in Yola, weekend,the Federal Commissioner of the Agency (NCFRMI),Hajiya Sa’adiya Umar Farouqq said the provision of these care, maintenance, empowerment and instructional materials signifies the intention of the present government to the continued wellbeing of the People of Concern(POC) in the country.
Farouqq who was represented at the occasion by the Director,Migrants,and Refugees Affairs of the Commission,Alhaji Lawan Hamidu explained that, the support is in recognition of the commission’s humanitarian mandate to providing protection ,assistance and durable solution to IDPs in the state.
“The materials is to empower IDPs,POCs in camps and host communities , so that they can started a means of livelihood in the state.
“The efforts by the commission, remains key to the plans envisioned by President Buhari to victims of crisis and disaster in the county,” She maintained.
The Commissioner added that,displaced persons,Asylum seekers as well as people of concerns,POCs are the target beneficiaries of the support.
Receiving the items on behalf of state government,Haruna Furo Executive Secretary ADSEMA,reiterated government determination to better the lots of IDPs and POCs in the state.
Furo urged the commission to complete the projects initiated in Numan for the benefits of the people of the state.
He assured the commission that the items donated will be judiciously and equitably distributed to the displaced persons
