Adamawa PAWECA to disburse N50,000 empowerment support to 35,000 vulnerables

The Poverty Alleviation And Wealth Creation Agency (PAWECA) Adamawa state has concluded arrangements to support another set of 35,000 people with N50,000 each.
Director General of the Agency, Michael Zira Wadaragwo made the disclosure to journalists in Yola, Wednesday, stressing that the support was approved by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri with a view to reduce economic hardship among the youths, widows and the vulnerable (poor)in the society.
Wadaragwo said the beneficiaries would be supported with the money through their bank accounts so as to add it to their business.
Wadaragwo added that another set of 5000 students are currently undertaking skills acquisition trainings across the 10 government technical training centres in the state, noting that they are being trained in different entrepreneurship areas including tailoring, carpentry, metal work, trading, electric and mechanic repairs among others.
“We are planning to engage 600 to 1000 youths from each local government council through collaborative framework for skills acquisition trainings after which starta packs will be provided to them to start up their selected business fields”.
While declaring the commitment of his Agency to achieving its vision and mission of poverty reduction and wealth creation among the citizens, he stated that a scheme to carter for the retiring workers codenamed “From retirement to wealth” have been designed as an empowerment support to retirees in the state.
He explained that five (5) years to the retirement of civil servants, they will be introduced to skills acquisition trainings for any business or entrepreneurship of their choice so that they can learn hand work.
