The Election Petition Tribunal hearing a case challenging last year’s Adamawa State House of Assembly by-election in Ganye has affirmed the election of Misa Musa Jauro of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The tribunal ruled on Wednesday that Jauro was the duly elected member representing Ganye Constituency in the state Assembly.
It dismissed the petition filed by the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which sought to overturn the August 2025 by-election results.
The petition, lodged by the PDP candidate, Buba Mohammed Joda, was held by the tribunal to be without merit, as it failed to establish sufficient grounds to nullify the election.
The August 2025 by-election was keenly contested, with APC’s Jauro emerging victorious by a narrow margin after polling 15,923 votes against the PDP candidate’s 15,794.
The results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) therefore showed a margin of 129 votes. In a statement on Tuesday, National Publicity Secretary (NPS) of the party Barr. Felix Morka said the alleged registration of the dreaded terrorist, Turji in the ongoing APC Electronic Registration and Validation Exercise was done by mischief makers.
“The attention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been drawn to a fake “APC membership slip” in circulation on social media falsely suggesting that a despicable and notorious terrorist, Mohammed Bello Turji, was registered as a member of our Party in the ongoing APC Electronic Registration and Validation Exercise.
“The membership slip is a fabrication, fake and without any association or link, whatsoever, with our membership register and database.
