The President of the Nigeria Guild of Editors, Mr. Femi Adesina, Registrar of Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON), Alhaji Garba Bello-Kankarofi are among personalities bill to brainstorm on the potentials of tourism in Nigeria during a three days conference in Oshogbo, the Osun state capital.
The event, the second organise by Brand Journalists’ Association of Nigeria BJAN, which will hold between November 20 and 23 will also have marketing communication experts including Managing Director of Insight Communication, Mr. Jimi Awosika, Osun State Commissioner for Tourism, Sikiru Ayedun, Chief Executive Officer, August Consulting, and seasoned marketing journalist, Azuka Onwuka, speaking on various topics.
National Chairman of BJAN, Goddie Ofose told journalists in Lagos that the theme “Tourism marketing as a catalyst for economic development”, will afford government and industry personalities stakeholders to chart a course for the burgeoning tourism market in the country.
The Osun State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Sunday Akere told reporters the Rauf Aregbesola administration is geared toward identifying individuals and organisations that could aid its the state tourism development.
“the association has follow the activities of the State of Osun in the area of tourism, particularly the way the annual Osun Osogbo cultural fiesta has suddenly turned to international festival. We do not only consider it necessary to reel out the economic benefits of tourism, we want to add our voices to how it can be better marketed”, Ofose explained, during a press conference.
