Abuja Environmental Protection Board (AEPB), said its Sanitation Mobile court, sitting in Choose Estate, Lokogoma, has convicted 18 persons for various sanitation offences.
The offences, according to a statement issued at the weekend by the Board’s Public Relations Officer (PRO) Sam Musa, included: lack of waste bin, dirty environment and rearing of animals in residential premises.
It said the act was contrary to AEPB act no 10 of 1997.
The statement said out of the 64 persons that were arraigned before the court presided over by Magistrate Jubril Kutigi, three discharged while 42 received a seal up order, for not appearing in court.
The statement quoted the Director of the Board, Baba Shehu Lawan, saying “the exercise will cover the whole FCT, especially those without waste bins will be prosecuted accordingly.”
