After missing out in the two qualifiers in which the Super Eagles picked a solitary point out of maximum six, Super Eagles and Lille of France goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama has stated that it is left to the technical crew to decide the players to invite for the Eagles double header clashes against Sudan in October. In Enyeama’s absence, the Eagles lost at home to the Red Devils of Congo Brazzaville and were held to a goalless draw in Cape Town by Bafana Bafana of South Africa.

When asked about the players he thinks should be invited to the Eagles as another round of matches approach, Enyeama said that it is the prerogative of the coaches to invite players they believe can give them results while he is to honour the invitation if he is invited. “I don’t have any say in whoever the coaches decide to invite to the national team, it is left to them to do that, mine is to honour the national call at any time,” he said. Enyeama has been Nigeria’s number one goalkeeper for over a decade now after his superlative performance against England national team during the 2002 World Cup hosted by Korea and Japan.
