Super Eagles camp for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations has officially opened in Cairo, Egypt, with FC Porto left-back Zaidu Sanusi joining 10 other players already in camp.

Sanusi’s arrival brings the number of players present to 11 as Nigeria steps up preparations for the continental tournament scheduled to hold in Morocco. According to the Super Eagles’ Media Officer, 12 more players are expected to report to camp later today, Monday, December 15.

The defender was part of the Nigerian squad that finished as runners-up at the 2023 AFCON in Côte d’Ivoire and also featured in the team that lost to the Democratic Republic of Congo in the final of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying playoffs.

Meanwhile, the Super Eagles are scheduled to hold their first training session at 8:00 pm local time at the main bowl of the Cairo International Stadium, as preparations gather momentum.
