The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) scribe Musa Amadu has expressed pains over the inability of the Super Eagles to be in Equatorial Guinea to defend the AFCON trophy they won last year in South Africa.
He also confirmed their readiness to return the trophy immediately CAF makes such request.
Amadu said “it is painful that the Super Eagles would not be in Equatorial Guinea to defend the trophy they won in South Africa last year. It is not our desire not to be there, but it is unfortunate.
The trophy is still in our custody, and we are ready to return it immediately CAF makes such request.
The trophy is still very much intact and we want to assure all that nothing happened to it when part of our secretariat was burnt down by fire.
We are hopeful that with all the programs that have been put in place for the Super Eagles, they would surely bounce back again” he concluded.
