From Idowu Abdullahi, Lagos

The Oyo State Govenor, Seyi Makinde, has expressed satisfaction over the surprise appearance of the Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Saliu Adetunji, and the new 21 Obas at the same event.
The 21 Obas appeared as part of the entourage of the monarch to the Southwest Security Summit at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan on Monday.
Their public appearance together is coming after 24 months they parted ways following the ‘controversial’ crowning of members of the Olubadan-In-Council in 2017 by the immediate past Governor Abiola Ajimobi.
It would be recalled that the 21 new obas had boycotted the palace since their crowning due to the Olubadan’s stiff opposition to their elevation by the governor.
However, the Monday appearance of the Obas showed that they might have dropped the crowns as they wore hats and sat behind the Olubadan as members of his entourage.
Among the entourage of the Olubadan to the summit are the Otun Olubadan, High Chief Lekan Balogun; Asipa Olubadab, High Chief Eddy Oyewole; Balogun Olubadan, High Chief Owolabi Olakulehin; the Asipa Balogun, High Chief Lateef Gbadamosi Adebimpe; the Ekarun Olubadan, High Chief Amidu Ajibade and the Ekarun Balogun High Chief Adegbola.
Speaking on the new found peace, Governor Makinde, described the reconciliation as positive development.
“In the entourage of the Olubadan, I can see the high chiefs.
”I think it is a positive development in Oyo State. We are talking about security here; and I think it is part of what will help overall security of the society.” Makinde who is the host Governor said in his welcome address.
Other dignitaries at the summit include: the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi; Olugbo of Ugbo land, Oba Frederick Akinruntan; Oba of Lagos, Oba Rowland Akiu and a host of other traditional rulers.
