The National Orientation Agency has congratulated the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, on his 60th birthday, praising his leadership in communicating government policies and programmes.
The agency’s Director-General, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, in a statement issued on Sunday, described Idris as a focused and forward-looking leader committed to strengthening Nigeria’s information and orientation sector.
Issa-Onilu said the minister’s stewardship had provided clear direction for agencies under the ministry to better engage citizens and promote national consciousness.
He noted that Idris’ emphasis on national values, civic responsibility and patriotism had helped reshape public discourse, urging Nigerians to embrace a stronger sense of belonging.
According to him, the minister’s leadership has injected renewed energy into efforts aimed at reconnecting citizens with ideals of unity, discipline and collective responsibility.
The DG added that improved clarity and consistency in government communication under Idris had enhanced public understanding of policies and programmes.
He also credited the minister with promoting timely and responsible communication, which he said had helped counter misinformation and boost public trust in government institutions.
Issa-Onilu stated that the agency had continued to benefit from the minister’s leadership, deepening its grassroots sensitisation campaigns across the country.
He reaffirmed NOA’s commitment to supporting Idris’ vision through advocacy programmes promoting discipline, integrity and active citizenship.
The DG prayed for long life and greater fulfilment for the minister as he marked the milestone.
