Medical checkups are not only advised before marriage, but enrolling in a health Insurance Scheme will help to guarantee blissful and avoid unwanted,
Unneeded health, stress and problems later in marriage, according to the Director-General of the agency, Mr Abubabkar Hassan.
He made this known during a two day media roundtable funded by Save the Children Nigeria held in Zaria.
According to him it will be a wonderful for Kaduna State Government to enact Law that will ensure that couple are enrolled in the Health insurance before qualify for marriage.
He explained that couple who can save huge money for weddings, which lasted for a short time, they should be made to also enroll in the state health insurance scheme.
Hassan stressed that many health challenges that would have been paid for through out of pocket, said the future of the marriage is safe as all health payments will be addressed through the enrollment.
The DG disclosed that 80%of Kaduna residents still pay for healthcare from pocket, adding that the Agency will present the idea to the State Governor for consideration.
