A pressure group, Buhari Friends’ Organization Network (BFON), has urged leaders of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria to embrace all-inclusive policy of President Muhammadu Buhari needed to promote development and unity of Nigeria.
The Patron of the group in Edo State, Comrade Godwin Erhahon who made the disclosure in a statement, said described the appointment of Mr. Boss Mustapher as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) by the President as a “demonstration of his belief in the circularity of Nigeria”.
Erhahon in the statement which was made to journalists yesterday in Benin City, urged leaders of ACN to “stop alienating former members and leaders of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), now defunct legacy who laboured to build the All Progressives Congress.
He implored ACN legacy in APC should emulate President Buhari’s all-inclusive policy and stop alienating leaders of Congress for Progressives Change (CPC) legacy in states dominated by them.
Recall that before the 2015 general elections, four political parties, namely, Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), a faction of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and CPC merged and became APC.
The statement specifically challenged the national leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), other patriotic, social and religious organizations to promote peace and unity as well as the success of the administration of the President.
“With the appointment of another distinguished and devout Christian, Mr. Boss Gida Mustapher as the new Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), President Buhari has demonstrated his belief in the circularity of Nigeria and the determination to work with all patriotic Citizens, based on merit, irrespective of their faith”, the statement said.
