Ahmed, Buhari’s ex-aide reveals plans by Tinubu to reconcile Ganduje, Kwankwaso

A former aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, has given hints on plans by President Bola Tinubu to reconcile the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje and the 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso.
Ahmad said Ganduje and Kwankwaso’s reconciliation would be a major setback for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Posting on X, Ahmad said the reconciliation of the duo would help APC regain Kano State.
He wrote: “The likely reconciliation between Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso and Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje will be a significant setback for the major opposition party, PDP. When our party, the APC, regains its base in Kano, we can declare tomorrow’s game over already.”
Reports had it that Tinubu had communicated his intention to Ganduje and Kwankwaso separately, and had given them some time to inform their stakeholders of his intention.
It was also reported that he asked them to return at a later date to finalise the reconciliation process.
Tinubu met with Ganduje and some select APC stakeholders from Kano State last week Thursday, and met with Kwankwaso on Sunday.
It was gathered that he plans to personally chair a reconciliation meeting where the two former governors of Kano State are expected to come with two persons each.done.”
The statement also affirmed: “We remind the general populace that Chief Boniface Aniebonam, one of the founders of the NNPP, recently spoke out in favour of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and asked that his election be upheld.
