AKTH seeks media partnership for enlightenment on glaucoma in Kano

The Department of Opthalmology of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) in Kano is seeking for collaboration with media within and outside the state in commemorating this year’s World Glaucoma Week.
According to a statement signed by the Chairperson of Public Eye Health Unit of the hospital, the Global Health Community set aside one week, between Sunday 12-18 March 2023, to create awareness on glaucoma.
In a statement by the spokesperson of the hospital, Hauwa Muhammad Abdullahi, the Department of Opthalmology of the AKTH calls on all media organizations, as part of their corporate social responsibility, to join handsin reaching out to the public on the enlightenment.
“The theme of this year World Glaucoma Week:”The World is Bright, Save your Sight’’ will be a good concept for public awareness,” the statement said.
The statement stated that a team of Opthalmic specialists have been constituted in the department for media correspondents wishing to create awareness on the glaucoma within the week.
