ALGON mourns death of Abaji Education Secretary

Date:

The Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) FCT chapter has condoled with the chairman of Abaji Area Council, Abdulrahaman Ajiya over the death of his education secretary, Akilu Mansur.
The ALGON leader and chairman of Kwali Area Council, Joseph Shazin, who led other council chairmen to Abaji yesterday said they were at the area council to sympathise with their colleague over the demise of his LEA boss who passed away on Monday.
Shazi advised the chairman and members of the late LEA Secretary’s family to take solace in the lord and remain focus on their jobs.
Late Mansur died in the early hours of Monday at Abaji after a brief illness.
He assumed office as the LEA secretary in Jun, 2017, after he received official letter of his appointment from the council chairman, Alhaji Abdurahaman Ajiya.
Prior to his assumption of office as the education Secretary, he was the Principal of Sabon-Gari Secondary School in Abaji town.
Late Mansur, whose death came barley a year after one of his wives died in 2016, left behind five children and one wife.
The Head of Administration of the LEA, Malam Adahbakpa Umar while confirming the death of his boss, described him as an educationist who was committed to the development of education at rural level.
Umar said the late Mansur would not only be missed by his family but Abaji Area Council as a whole, especially the education department given his wealth of experience.
He has since been buried in Abaji town on Monday according to Islamic rites.
