The Kaduna State chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) announced its intention to pursue legal action against Imrana Wakili for making false and unfounded accusations against Governor Uba Sani on social media.

In a statement released on Wednesday and signed by the Association’s spokesperson, Alhaji Muhammad Lawal Shehu, ALGON demands an immediate retraction of the allegations and a public apology.

The statement warned that failure to comply will leave the Association with no choice but to initiate legal proceedings within seven days.

Imrana Wakili alleged that Governor Uba Sani approved the expenditure of N4.6 billion for the purchase of vehicles for Local Government Chairmen through a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account.

However, according to ALGON’s spokesperson, this claim is entirely false.

“Governor Uba Sani has consistently prioritized fiscal discipline and cost-cutting measures since assuming office. The document in question is a fabrication, intended to mislead the public and attract attention from individuals seeking to undermine the Governor’s administration,” he stated.

The spokesman further emphasized that this deliberate spread of misinformation is a calculated attempt to tarnish the significant achievements of His Excellency, Senator Uba Sani, especially as the state celebrates his two years in office.
