The Niger State All Progressives Congress (APC) has said Governor Muazu Babangida Aliyu has confirmed the party position that he has been running a government of deceit which on Monday the governor disclosed that politics is about lying.

This was contained in a statement issued by the APC state Publicity Secretary, Mr Jonathan Vatsa yesterday in Minna.

Commenting on the statement by Aliyu, Vatsa maintained that, “We in APC want to make it clear that the position of the Governor has clearly made public the true manifestoes of the ruling PDP to the people of the state which is lying and deceit, an indication that all the years of the Governor has been a ruse and about lying”.

Vatsa said that Governor Aliyu’s administration since 2007 has been characterized with unfulfilled promises and grandstanding which main agenda was to make people believe that they are been provided with the needed dividends of democracy while in the real sense they are being deceived.

“There are many unfulfilled promises but notable among the promises were the Zuma rock tallest building and the cable car, Minna airport city, Minna city tower, Garam industrial layout, Minna shopping mall, five star hotels, Minna Stadium and many others that he had made Nigerlites to believe is for their interest but ended only on billboards” he said.

It could be recalled that penultimate Monday, at the inauguration of the PDP gubernatorial campaign team, Gov Aliyu reportedly said “if you cannot tell lies then get out of politics to become an Imam or a Pastor, the political variables has changed and the issues that determined 2011 election will be different from 2015 election”.

APC noted that the present government has embarked on gigantic and uncompleted projects that have no direct impact on the life of ordinary people of the state

The statement added that Governor Aliyu has “so far collected N36 billion bond that were used to either construct road to his house or to his farm, it is more disturbing that the burden of some of the bonds will be taking over by the next administration thereby weighing down the next administration and generations unborn with debt burdens”.

According to Vatsa the pronouncement of the governor signified that “Nigerlites cannot trust him, his government and his party to serve the interest of the people because he has publicly chastised one of his former Commissioners for not lying to win the party’s last primary election”.

“Nigerlites are tired of lies and window dressing, this is the time for change, the wind of change is blowing through Niger State, no amount of vote buying and manipulations can stop this wind sweeping the evil spirit that has turned our Government House to evil forest where our fate is tied to the hands of few individuals operating like cabal and always desire to be worshipped”.

It therefore called on all Nigerlites to reject liars in totality because the APC believes that conduct in politics should be guided by ethical codes that conform with every standard world over, built on the philosophy that anything created on falsehood cannot and will not survive the strong will of the people as such cannot truly serve the interest of the people.
