The Muslim Lawyers Association of Nigeria, (MULAN) has raised alarm that the arrested Armament officer, DSP Nanbol Audu, who died in Kaduna Police detention, for alleged gun-running, was silenced and eliminated so as not to reveal incriminating evidence.
Chairman of MULAN, Kaduna state chapter, Barrister Muhammad Etubi, who made the allegation while addressing a press conference in Kaduna yesterday, called for thorough investigations into the matter to uncover how the Late Nanbol Audu was killed.
According to Etubi, “The thorough investigation must unveil how the Late Nanbol Audu was killed and the culprits should be apprehended and brought to book. We believe he was silenced so that he will not reveal incriminating evidence.
“We are therefore watching with keen interest subsequent development on the case; particularly as we gathered that the suspect was selling the arms and ammunition to people in Plateau state, where it is
noteworthy that the state is one of the flash points of crises in the country,” he said.
It would be recalled that, the suspect, DSP Nanbol Audu and two others, Zingkur Joseph and Samuel Adamu, were arrested during an alleged arms and ammunition deal.
The State Commissioner of Police, Umar Shehu Ambursa, who confirmed the death of the gun runner to this correspondent, had earlier said investigation has commenced in earnest to find what led to the death of the officer while in detention.
