The wife of the Vice President, Hajiya Amina Namadi Sambo has commended the activities of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) for fast-tracking economic and social development of the country.
Sambo was represented by the wife of the Kaduna state Governor, Hajiya Fatima Mukhtar Ramalan Yero at the NIM management day public lecture at Arewa House, Kaduna.
According to her, she has been monitoring the activities of NIM for years and therefore has become interested in its efforts to develop the professional careers of members by creating opportunity to network with like-minded professionals.
She said the lecture was timely as it came at the time Nigeria was celebrating her 100 years of amalgamation where the Nation’s landmark and history were relived and therefore called on the members to always carry the flag of the institute high by being professionals, disciplined and honest in their callings as a way of encouraging many young people to become professional managers.
She also commended them for organising the lecture and further assured of her support and assistance at all times to build and pursue the laudable goals of the institute for development.
In her remarks, the Chairman of NIM, Kaduna chapter, Dr Mariam Abdul, pointed out that NIM is a multi-disciplinary professional body with the vision to be the source and symbol of management excellence, adding that since inception in 1961 it has been in the forefront of management, development, maintaining professional standards in Nigeria.
She said the institute would continue to up hold its standard in order to promote proper management for economic social and political development in the society.
