One of the governorship aspirants for the November 6 election in Anambra, Chidozie Nwankwo, has said that he has a revolutionary agenda to secure victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State, even as he observed that the people of Anambra State are already tired of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
Speaking to journàlists after submitting his expression of interest and nomination forms at the APC national secretariat on Monday in Abuja, the aspirant said “If I become the APC candidate and win, my mission will be to improve the lot of the people of Anambra.”
The aspiring governor, who said he has businesses in seven countries around the world, added he has the ability to turn the tide of Anambra.
He said he would do so by effectively managing the state’s human, mineral and financial resources, adding that he was in the race to change the political landscape and change the fortunes of the people.
He however denounced the wave of insecurity in the South East in particular, adding that absolute peace would be restored to Anambra once good leadership was inducted.
He said he would effectively engage the state’s youth in agriculture and other programs to combat the unrest.
Speaking on the type of primaries to be adopted to choose the party’s candidate in the elections scheduled for November 6, Nwankwo said such a decision should be taken by the APC leadership.
“The party knows the rules and regulations and I want the party itself to decide which model or model to use to run the next primaries,” Nwankwo said.
He promised to reposition the state in the economy and build industrial parks.
The aspirant is also committed to bringing better values in governance by prioritizing projects and spending.
Speaking about the power of the incumbents in Anambra, the aspirant said his legacy as the main market leader of Onitsha supersedes any influence of the incumbents in the state.
He said he would ensure an agricultural revolution that would positively impact the state and its people while ensuring security.
“I am a catalyst, throughout my life. I have always made changes to everything I do.
“My records show that in all areas of human endeavor in which I have been involved, I have made changes not only in Nigeria but across the world,” he said.
